Frequently Asked Questions
Who should come to the evaluation?
I see children with attention problems, learning challenges, mental health concerns, and/or neurological conditions. The evaluation provides information about how a child's brain works and reveals any underlying mental health diagnoses.
What do we need to bring to the evaluation?
On the day of testing, I ask parents to bring the paperwork provided ahead of time, previous psychological and educational testing, and established formal education plans, like a 504-plan and/or an IEP. The evaluation is typically four to five hours, so families bring snacks and a lunch as well.
What if my child is already diagnosed?
I often evaluate children with known diagnoses to assess how their brains are developing in the context of their diagnoses. I also ensure that the diagnoses are appropriate and assess for additional challenges that might be hindering development.
Why don't you use insurance?
Insurance companies limit the services that I can provide to my patients. I provide families with insurance codes so they can seek reimbursement.
